'Demonstrative Adjective' म्हणजे काय?

जाणीवपूर्वक एखादी व्यक्ती किंवा वस्तू दर्शविण्यासाठी जे Adjective वापरले जाते, त्याला 'Demonstrative Adjective' (डेमॉन्स्ट्रेटिव्ह ऍड्जेक्टिव्ह) म्हणजेच 'दर्शक विशेषण' असे म्हणतात.

Demonstrative Adjective ची काही वैशिष्ट्ये

• वाक्यातील व्यक्ती किंवा गोष्टी यांचा उल्लेख करताना त्या कोणत्या गोष्टी आहेत किंवा कोणत्या व्यक्ती आहेत, हे जेव्हा सांगायचे असते, तेव्हा Demonstrative Adjective चा उपयोग केला जातो.
• Demonstrative Adjective मध्ये this, that, these, those, some, other, any, certain या प्रमुख adjectives चा समावेश होतो.
• वाक्यामध्ये वापरलेले Demonstrative Adjective हे एकतर Definite (निश्चित) असते किंवा Indefinite (अनिश्चित) असते.

Definite Demonstrative Adjective

Definite Demonstrative Adjective (डेफिनेट डेमॉन्स्ट्रेटिव्ह ऍड्जेक्टिव्ह) म्हणजे 'निश्चित दर्शक विशेषण' होय.

याचा उपयोग एखादी व्यक्ती किंवा वस्तू निश्चितपणे दर्शविण्यासाठी करण्यात येतो.

यामध्ये this, that, these, those या Adjectives चा समावेश होतो.

this आणि that यांच्या सोबत नेहमी singular number चे noun वापरलेले असते.

तसेच, these आणि those यांच्या सोबत नेहमी plural number चे noun वापरलेले असते.

• This girl came here today.
• आज ही मुलगी इकडे आली.

Example 2

• That is a beautiful flower.
• ते फुल खूप सुंदर आहे.

Example 3

• These birds are beautiful.
• हे पक्षी खूप सुंदर आहेत.

• Those diamonds are very expensive.
• ते हिरे खूप महाग आहेत.

Indefinite Demonstrative Adjective

Indefinite Demonstrative Adjective (इंडेफिनेट डेमॉन्स्ट्रेटिव्ह ऍड्जेक्टिव्ह) म्हणजे 'अनिश्चित दर्शक विशेषण' होय.

याचा उपयोग एखादी व्यक्ती किंवा वस्तू अनिश्चितपणे परंतु विशिष्ट अर्थाने दर्शविण्यासाठी करण्यात येतो.

यामध्ये some, other, any, certain या adjectives चा समावेश होतो.

For example (उदाहरणार्थ),

• I was looking at other people.
• मी इतर लोकांकडे बघत होतो.

Example 2

• He asked me to choose a book from a certain section.
• त्याने मला एका विशिष्ट विभागामधून एका पुस्तकाची निवड करण्यास सांगितले.

Example 3

• There has to be some way to solve his financial problem.
• त्याचा आर्थिक प्रश्न सोडविण्याचा काहीतरी मार्ग असलाच पाहिजे.
